Run the engine yourself

Drop a residential HPXML file below. Your browser will import it, fetch the weather year for its station, and simulate all 8,760 hours with the same engine our design tool runs. The home never leaves your machine. Only its location is sent, to choose a weather station, and the weather year is downloaded.

Simulate a home

Choose an HPXML file or try a sample home. You can also drop a file here.

The annual load results describe what the building needs from its heating and cooling system under standard occupancy; they are independent of equipment. The rating uses the supported equipment, service, ventilation, and on-site power facts in the HPXML file. Results are estimates, not certificates or compliance determinations. Sample HPXML files come from the open-source OpenStudio-HPXML project and are redistributed under its BSD-3-Clause license. Weather comes from Aris’s US station library.
